BODIES HUMAN: Anatomy in Motion
Discovery Center of Idaho is excited to announce 'BODIES HUMAN: Anatomy in Motion', opening this Friday, December 14th!
BODIES HUMAN: Anatomy in Motion gives visitors a rare opportunity to see first-hand, the inner workings of the human body through the display and interpretation of preserved human body specimens. There are over 100 specimens on display, including several full body specimens all preserved through a special process called ‘plastination’. Full body specimens are displayed in varying states of motion for example, kicking a soccer ball, twisting at the torso, singing, or thinking to show the different biological systems engaged in each state.
This exhibition offers an opportunity to see and understand our own anatomy and physiology, and to understand how the choices we make affect our overall health.
BODIES HUMAN: Anatomy in Motion is made possible by our presenting sponsor, STEM Action Center. Also by our supporting sponsors, KIVI Channel 6 and the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine.
*This Exhibition will be in an enclosed gallery, giving visitors the choice of whether to experience BODIES HUMAN: Anatomy in Motion or our traditional exhibits. Additional fees apply to experience BODIES HUMAN: Anatomy in Motion.
**NO photography or video allowed out of respect for the human specimens.
